Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty launched on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on March 3, 2023. The new Soulslike action RPG from Team Ninja, the developers of Nioh, is described as “a dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms.” Following its release, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has officially received a Metacritic Score from critics and users on its multiple platforms. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty officially received an 81 across the board for its PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions on Metacritic. The PlayStation 4 and and Xbox One versions of the game did not receive Metascores. According to Metacritic, Team Ninja’s latest effort currently ranks 75th all-time on PS5, while placing 59th in the history of the Xbox Series X|S.

In terms of audience ratings, while the new action RPG netted a middling 7.4 PC user score, the game scored an impressive 8.2 from its PS5 fans, and a stunning 9.4 on Xbox Series X|S as of this writing.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty vs. Nioh – Which Scored Better?

While Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s critic and user scores are certainly nothing to scoff at, the game underperformed in comparison to the 2017 and 2020 titles Nioh and Nioh 2. According to Metacritic, Nioh earned an 88 critic score on PS4 and an 84 on PC, while its sequel garnered an 85 on PS4, an 83 on PS5, and an 86 PC Metascore.

On the other hand, the games’ user scores found the first Nioh game netting an 8.4 on PS4 and a 7.1 on PC, while Nioh 2 received a 7.8 on PS4, a 7.3 on PS5, and a 7.1 audience rating on PC.
